Strong correlation between air-liquid interface cultures and in vivo transcriptomics of nasal brush biopsy

Air-liquid interface cultures are extensively used to model chronic respiratory diseases. Comparative transcriptomics between cultured cells and fresh nasal brushings from patients suggests a high degree of correlation. Overall design: Total RNA sequencing was performed to compare the transcriptome of these nasal epithelial cells cultured at ALI for 6 weeks with the directly harvested brushed nasal epithelia.
