Bacterial-derived cellulose (BC) has become an increasingly popular research material for use in biomedical applications. In this study, a cellulose-producing strain was isolated from a kombucha tea culture (Urban Farm, Portland ME). This isolate was sequenced using Oxford Nanopore and Illumina technology. Commercially available cellulose-producing strains were obtained from ATCC and sequenced as reference strains.
