Retention of larval skin traits in adult amphibious killifishes: A cross-species investigation

The purpose of this study was to investigate the hypothesis that unique skin traits in adult amphibious fishes are the result of the retention of larval traits. To test this hypothesis we examined the skin of fishes spanning a range of amphibiousness across development.
