Publicly available dataset for " Both Cyclone-induced and convective storms drive disturbance patterns in European primary beech forests"

This dataset was used to test for impacts of cyclones and convective storms on windthrow in Central and Eastern Europe.<br>Forest inventory data was collected from beech forests in Romania and Slovakia. Dendrochronological methods were used to core and crossdate trees. Tree-ring growth patterns were used to reconstruct disturbance in forests. Topographic exposure was calculated from DEMs. Longitude was collected with a GPS. Number of severe CAPE and WSPD days were calculated from Twentieth Century Reanalysis data Version 3. <br>
