Diet data for “Arctic greening drives changes in the diet and gut microbiome of a resident herbivore with consequences for body mass”.

The folder “Diet data” contains the (1) sequence data file after bioinformatic processing, including merging of paired-end reads, primers and tags removal, clustering, the filtering of short and rare sequences, and taxonomic assignations using the OBITools3 programme (Boyer et al. 2016), the (2) micro-histology diet data from 2009 for the subset of rumen samples analysed here, and the (3) plant DNA metabarcoding diet data after further data curation including the removal of failed PCRs, artifactual sequences and contaminations as well as transformation of sequence reads counts into relative abundances. This datafile also contains all the necessary metadata (tab 1), additional details about the plant MOTUs retrieved from the reindeer rumen (tab 2). Tab 3 corresponds to the actual diet dataset.
