DMV Minimum Outflow — Corrective Factor (Q) — DGR No.1268/2022

The Minimum Life Flow (DMV) is the instant flow rate, to be determined in each homogeneous section of the watercourse, in order to guarantee the ecological integrity for the protection of aquatic life, to ensure a balanced use of the water resource and to protect the balance of the water and hydrogeological balance. The Water Protection Plan identifies the methods for determining and applying the corrective factors of the DMV on the basis of the criteria identified by the District Basin Authorities. The factor (Q) expresses the dilution requirements of pollutants conveyed in watercourses according to existing human activities and is modulated in a range between 1.00 and 1.60. The Q values are determined on the basis of the periodic update of the state of the surface water bodies.
