World distribution of the Tantulocarida (Crustacea)

World distribution of the Tantulocarida dataset is based on literature sources. The dataset consists of 206 records, which represent occurrence of the 39 species of the Tantulocarida, belonging to 5 currently accepted families. It comprises information on the taxonomy, life cycle stage of the parasite, taxonomy of hosts, geographical location, depth, date of collection and reference to the literature source. Additionally we provide occurrence data of the crustacean hosts of the Tantulocarida belonging to several large taxa: Copepoda, Amphipoda, Isopoda, Ostracoda, Cumacea, Tanaidacea. Total of 139 occurrences of host taxa are included in the dataset.Tantulocarida show Worldwide distribution with records in all Oceans, in tropical, boreal and polar regions. Vertical distribution of these crustaceans is remarkable spanning from shallow waters to abyssal depths.
