Meromictic Lake Suigetsu is one of the Mikata Five Lakes, Fukui, Japan, and has a steep oxygen gradient in the water column with depth. The lake has the permanently stratified anoxic bottom layer, which is good analogous site for demonstrating of the oxygen-driven niches of microbes. To investigate the temporal change of the bacterial community structure throughout the year in the lake using V4-V5 region (291 bp) of the 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing analysis.
