Data underlying the publication: Supporting systems engineering decisions via DISPA: Decision Information Sharing for Pre-decision Alignment

Dataset containing the data underlying the publication titled "Supporting systems engineering decisions via DISPA: Decision Information Sharing for Pre-decision Alignment". It consists of four parts:Survey results as collected during the evaluation of the decision-making support as described in the publicationResults of the thematic analysis of the qualitative data collected during this evaluationQuantitative data on two preparations of decisionsThe design files of the decision-making support<br>The purpose of the data collection was to develop and evaluate the decision-making support in two cycles. This support is meant to improve decision-making in the context of the systems engineering department of a high-tech company that developes increasingly complex cyber-physical systems.<br>Parts 1, 2 and 3 are the data underlying the publication's results and data analysis. These were generated in the evaluation of the support we developed for this work. Evaluation consisted of three approaches: Practice cases, Application workshops, and Application &amp; Monitoring. Participants in the Practice cases and Application workshops were volunteers responding to a department-wide email. Participants of the Application &amp; monitoring tracks were selected based the availability of decisions being prepared, and accepted our request to participate.<br>The three approaches used the following methods, resulting in the data in this dataset:- Practice cases: 1. Observing individual contributor trials, 2. Individual survey, 3. Discussion- Application workshops: 1. Guiding decision maker trials, 2. Pre-trial interview, 3. Follow-up interview- Application &amp; monitoring: 1. Applying the support for a real-life decision, 2. Pre-use interview, 3. Weekly repeating interview, 4. Post-decision interview<br>Part 4 offers the design of the DISPA support as used in the evaluation: the two versions of the support sheet and the library document.<br>All data was collected under the approval of the Ethics Committee of the faculty of Engineering Technology of the University of Twente under application numbers 241118, 250146 and 251780. These were approved on 05-12-2024, 25-02-2025 and 13-10-2025 respectively.
