The rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, is an important lepidopteran rice pest in Asia. The olfactory system plays critical roles in the guidance of insect behaviours, so we performed a transcriptome sequencing project for the antennae of C. medinalis in order to identify putative olfactory-related genes. This study will serve as a basis for further researches to understand the molecular mechanism of the olfactory system in this insect species.
