Sequencing of strains from healthy carriers.. Staph_aureus

Staphylococcus aureus can colonize various niches of the human body. However, some genotypes prefer throat before nose colonization. Throat colonization by MRSA seems difficult to eradicate but knowledge about colonization determinants responsible for niche specialization could provide novel targets for intervention.Our approach is a comparative analysis of genetically matched S. aureus isolates from either nose or throat using whole genome sequencing.
