PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microfibrillated cellulose capable of blending with a paper product at relatively high blending level and moreover， maintaining or improving physical， mechanical and/or optical properties of the paper product. SOLUTION: The microfibrillated cellulose can be obtained by microfibrillation of a fibrous base material containing a cellulose in the presence of a pulverization medium and in the presence of an inorganic particulate substance as required.
