Long-term plankton community data from western Taiwan coast

This data includes 1142 samples collected from 8 transects perpendicular to western Taiwan coast, on which two stations were set at 10 and 20 m deep. The sampling was conducted quarterly, but only transect 3 to 6 were continuously sampled from 1993 to 2021 due to logistic constrains. The data contain 1142 rows (samples) and 29 columns including 4 time parameters (year, month, day, quarter), 6 spatial parameters (transect name, station name, depth, decimal longitude and latitude, and location type: nearshore or offshore), 13 environment parameters (temperature in ℃, salinity in ‰, pH, concentration of chlorophyll a in mg×m^-3 , dissolved oxygen, concentration of, NO_2^(1-), NO_3^(1-), PO_4^(3-) , SiO_4^(4-), biochemical oxygen demand BOD, and total suspended solids, and transparency), and 6 plankton variables (density of total phytoplankton, abundance of zooplankton, shrimp and crab larva, fish eggs and fish larva.
