Physiological and Biochemical Response and Gene Expression Profiling Analysis of Populus Euphratica to Drought Stress

Populus euphratica is the only tall forest tree species in the Northwest arid desert areas . The study of its drought resistance genes has important values in the understanding of the drought resistant mechnisms of P. euphratica and the genes discovery related in drought response.In this study, we observed the drought tolerance characteristics during the bud and seedling of Populus euphratica oliv. under the drought stress simulated by PEG6000. The critical concentration of PEG at 25% was chosen to use in the further treatment for the gene expression profiling .
