VPRS 12453 County Court Register, Probate and Administration, Part III

This register lists Probates and Administrations granted by County Courts rather than the Supreme Court of Victoria. All were for estates valued at less than 500 pounds. It may be that these were the types of estates which led to the formalising of the arrangement with the passing of the Intestate Widows Relief Act 1889. Records pertaining to the granting of probates and administrations by the County Court under this Act may be found in VPRS 1703 Register of Applications Under the Intestate Widows Relief Act.
