The goal of this project was to create multiple, simultaneous, targeted double-strand breaks in a model plant's mitochondrial genome, in order to asses DNA repair choice and consequence on genome structure. This was accomplished using a nuclear-encoded, mitochondrial targeted, inducible restriction enzyme, KasI.
