These data form the basis of a study on whether sub-Antarctic Marion Island grasses acquire organic N, such as amino acids. The data included are from hydroponics experiments, testing whether the grasses acquire organic N intact and how organic versus inorganic N affects growth and biomass partitioning. There is also data from a small field experiment where 15N organic and inorganic N were provided to grasses along a gradient of iN:oN availability.
