On the right the boxes with bones [of deceased people] are piled one on top of the other on shelves decorated with a flag. In front two sacred pots. In the middle a sacred gong, upside down, with the Sawang plant, and filled with rice. On the left the 'Guide of Souls' sits, with the little plates of rice in front of him which he will strew over the relatives of the various deceased people. In front of the little plates of rice you can see a Sirik stand ... [reading uncertain] ... and on one plate tobacco. Behind the latter are crude bush-knifes. The brass bowl contains buffalo blood for the ceremony.
