Weekly samples of activated sludge and settled sewage were collected from a water treatment plant in the north of England, between June 2011 and June 2013. Raw samples were then filtered, DNA extracted, and sent for 16S amplicon sequencing. Physico-chemical data were also measured to complement the samples.
