资源简介:
This is a collection of data and metadata collected by NSF 1821284 Coproduction of Knowledge and the building of archaeological capacity in Greenland project 2019-2025. This was an international community based project involving the Greenland National Museum and Archives, CUNY, the Danish National Museum, U Iceland, U Edinburgh, U Glasgow, Memorial U Canada, and the Kujataa UNESCO World Heritage Region The project carried out extensive GPS aided survey of previously undocumented areas for the GL National Museum data base, collected animal bones and other organic material from rapidly degrading sites across the region, collected the last surviving human remains from the Norse cemetery at Gardar/Igaliku, and created new digital media resources for the local communities and digital training material for GL museum staff. Despite the delays imposed by Covid 19 and often challenging logistics the community based program rescued major zooarchaeological and human bioanthropological samples endangered by rapid soil warming and created resources for the local community heritage programs.
