New NPP at the Dukovany site; Project notice (EIA scoping), (technical opinion): At the Dukovany site in the Czech Republic, ČEZ, a.s. is planning a new nuclear power plant. It is one or two reactors with an electrical output of up to 3,500 MW. They are to go into operation from 2035 and have a duration of at least 60 years. Four VVER440 reactors are available at the existing Dukovany NPP site. An environmental impact assessment under Czech EIA law will be carried out for this project. The first step of this EIA procedure is the scoping procedure, which determines the subject matter and the depth of investigation for the further EIA procedure. For this purpose, a scoping document was submitted (AMEC FOSTER WHEELER et al. 2016)- In order to assess whether Austria is likely to be affected, the present expert opinion, based on an assessment of the scoping document, compiles requirements for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIA) to be submitted in the next step of the procedure.
