Seawater samples were collected from 10 beaches along 53.1 km of the Mississippi coast, USA, once every three months from March 2024 to March 2025. DNA from filtered seawater samples were amplified targeting 250 base pairs of the V4 region of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene to determine spatiotemporal patterns in the bacterial communities.
