Chitin responses in expanded and still expanding leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana

The project uses RNA-seq profiling to investigate chitin responses of leaves of different ages of Arabidopsis thaliana. Leaves that were fully expanded (old leaves) and still expanding (young leaves) were treated with chitin and their responses were assayed 30 min post-treatment. The data reveals that younger leaves of wild-type plants have a smaller transcriptional response to chitin than in mature leaves.
