This study presents the genome characterization of Bacillus licheniformis M2-7, a thermoresistant bacterium with biotechnological potential. The main objectives include the analysis of genes related to hydrocarbon degradation (catE, pobA, fabHB, csrA), phytopathogen antagonism (eglS), and plant growth promotion (trpC). Phylogenetic analysis was performed on these biotechnologically relevant genes to compare them with closely related species. Additionally, we propose the metabolic pathways in which these genes are potentially involved, contributing to hydrocarbon degradation, biocontrol, and plant-microbe interactions.
