Information regarding the time of posting was altered () on May 21, 2009 so that local time rather than Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) was reported. If a tweet is a reply to a previous tweet, the attributes also include those indicated by an asterisk: the ID of the specific tweet's and user's ID. Twitter initially issued tweets in XML format before moving to the JSON standard [46].
