InvigoratEU Public Opinion Survey
收藏资源简介:
The results of a sociological survey conducted by the sociological service of the Razumkov Centre in February 2025 indicate that the majority of Ukrainian citizens consider the EU’s current assistance to Ukraine insufficient or extremely insufficient. Ukrainian citizens believe that the European Union’s most significant contributions to strengthening Ukraine’s security should include military aid, accession process to the EU, and security guarantees. Most Ukrainians hold the view that, as security guarantees, the EU should offer Ukraine a collective security treaty (similar to NATO’s Article 5), the formation of a coalition of EU member states committed to protecting Ukraine, peacekeeping operations in Ukraine involving the armed forces of EU member states, and the continued supply of arms. Beyond military aid, Ukrainian citizens believe the European Union should contribute to strengthening Ukraine’s security by supporting the effectiveness and accountability of government bodies, including anti-corruption measures, assisting in the protection of critical infrastructure, supporting the investigation and prosecution of war crimes, and providing training for Ukrainian non-military law enforcement agencies (such as the police and the SBU). Regarding Ukraine’s own contribution to strengthening security in Europe, Ukrainians most frequently point to the development of a robust national security system, provision to the European Union of new military information obtained during hostilities, Ukraine’s participation in European military capability development projects, cooperation between Ukraine and the EU in military research and technological innovations. Respondents call the biggest obstacles to Ukraine’s integration into the EU besides the war with Russia the position of some EU member states, EU bureaucracy, and Ukraine’s lack of reform.
