Upper water mass movement of ocean currents from the Irish Offshore Strategic Environmental Assessment (IOSEA 5). Masses of moving water are called currents. In the oceans there are major surface currents, subsurface currents, and tidal currents. This data represents an analysis of the mass movement of water in the upper sections of the water column. Currents in the upper water column are known as the North Atlantic Current and Shelf edge current.
