XMM-Newton observation of the dust-making Wolf-Rayet star WR106

The issue of the Xray emission from WolfRayet (WR) stars is far from beingelucidated. Thanks to previous observations, we know indeed that even thoughseveral WNtype WR are detected in Xrays, it appears that single WC stars arenot detected, most probably because of the strong opacity of the stellar wind.However, significant Xray emission is expected if WC stars are part of acollidingwind binary system. In the case of dustmaking WR stars (WCtype withdense stellar winds), dust is most probably produced in a windwind interactionregion.
