We have found thar long-term hypomagnetic field(HMF) exposure negatively influences multiple stages of adult hippocampal neurogenesis. To further investigate the possible molecular mechanism underlying the influence of HMF on adult hippocampal neurogenesis, we subjected adult male transgenic mice expressing green fluorescent protein (GFP) under the control of the Nestin promoter (Nestin-GFP mice) to HMF or geomagnetic field exposure and subsequently quickly purified the GFP+ adult neural stem cells from the dentate gyrus of adult hippocampus of mice. Gene ontology analysis of the upregulated genes and the downregulated genes in GFP+ adult neural stem cells of HMF-exposed mice were carried out to revealed which genes that involved in biological metabolic processes could be affected by HMF exposure.
