Transcriptome profiling reveals higher vertebrate orthologous of intra-cytoplasmic pattern recognition receptors in grey bamboo shark. Transcriptome profiling in Chiloscyllium griseum

Sharks belong to the subgroup elasmobranchs with evidence to the presence of specific immune responses in these oldest group of living cartilaginous fishes . Large scale sequencing attempts are scanty in species. We generated the global transcriptome profile from spleen and kidney with analysis and annotation revealing the presence of orthologous receptors contributing to innate resistance. The identified receptors revealed greater identity to the higher vertebrates than to teleost fishes.
