L1-L2 Alikeness

Although facilitatory effects were reported for graphophonic similar L1-L2 scenarios, limited CLO effects were found between idiomaticity distanced L1-L2s. To probe how L1-L2 idiomatic alikeness might affect L2 idiom processing, this study inspected how CLOs at semantic, conceptual, and cultural-specific levels would contribute to L2 idiom recognition and comprehension.
