Welfare Monitoring Survey Round I, 2024

Household living conditions in Sudan have been evolving rapidly, necessitating timely monitoring. In response, the World Bank conducted the first round of a welfare monitoring phone surveys between October and November 2024, nearly 18 months after the conflict began. The survey focuses on four key themes: food insecurity, displacement, household assets, and mental health. It is based on a probability sample of 1,323 respondents across 13 states, excluding the five Darfur states due to unstable network coverage during data collection.
