Samples were collected from Yale New Haven Hospital 2023-2024 to quantify and source-track the recolonization of hospital sink surfaces after cleaning. Samples were collected as swabs from drain covers (DC), sink basins (SB), and sink drain pipes (drain) and as liquid from p-trap liquid (ptrap) and drinking water (tap). Samples were collected prior to any cleaning event (pre) as well as at 0h, 1h, 10h, 24h, and 7d post-cleaning. Sinks were located either in patient rooms or in hallways.
