This dataset comprises high-resolution in situ spatial transcriptomic data of human skeletal muscle obtained using the Xenium platform (10x Genomics). Samples from the vastus lateralis muscle of two individuals—a 19-year-old male (Sample_2) and an 85-year-old female with sarcopenia (Sample_1) —were analyzed to investigate transcriptomic heterogeneity. The dataset includes: Spatially resolved transcriptomic profiles targeting 377 genes using the Human Multi-Tissue and Cancer Panel. High resolution post-Xenium H&E images of analysed muscle sections. High resolution images of serial muscle sections stained against MyHC type 1 (Bad5 Antibody) and MyHC type 2a and 2x (SC71 Antibody). This dataset is shared to promote further exploration of skeletal muscle biology and the development of advanced spatial transcriptomic techniques.
