The aim of this study was to assemble a draft nuclear genome sequence of D. virescens to ultimately allow for comparative studies with other sequenced genomes within the family Ceratocystidaceae. Understanding the pathological role and general biology of this fungus in conjunction to its placement within the phylogenetic classification of the family Ceratocystidaceae will shed light on any similar or shared biological mechanisms in comparison to the other available genomes in the Ceratocystidaceae.
