Dataset for: Student and faculty priorities for gamified curriculum enrichment in medical education

This dataset contains the quantitative data associated with the study titled "Student and faculty priorities for gamified curriculum enrichment in medical education: a sequential mixed-methods study". Overview The data were collected to investigate the differences in motivational profiles and curriculum enrichment priorities between Generation Z medical students and faculty members. The dataset includes fully anonymized responses from 452 Phase 3 undergraduate medical students and 31 faculty members at Ege University Faculty of Medicine. Data Structure & Instruments The dataset is divided into pages containing both raw responses and calculated scores to ensure maximum transparency and computational reproducibility. The data encompass three main domains: Sociodemographic & Gaming Habits (SD data): Includes basic demographic variables, voluntary medical school choice, and self-reported digital/gaming habits. Gamification User Types (HEXAD data): Contains responses to the 24-item Modified Gamification User Types Scale, categorizing participants into six motivational profiles: Socialiser, Free Spirit, Achiever, Philanthropist, Player, and Disruptor. Curriculum Enrichment Priorities (AHP data): Contains pairwise comparison matrices based on Saaty’s Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Participants evaluated four gamification alternatives (Self-expression, Social Interaction, Achievement/Competition, and Arousing Curiosity) across three main educational criteria (Student Psychology, Satisfaction with Faculty, and Vocational Development). Usage Notes All personally identifiable information has been removed. Participants are coded relationally via a unique Participant_ID (1-452 for students; 453-483 for faculty) to allow cross-tabulation between sociodemographic, HEXAD, and AHP data.
