Dissolved organic matter quantity and characteristics for seasonal synoptic sampling in Gibson Jack Creek in southeastern Idaho, May, July, October 2021

Synoptic samples of dissolved organic matter (DOM) quality and quantity can be used to investigate hydrological and biogeochemical controls on organic matter cycling. We collected water samples over a seasonal flow recession (May, July, and October 2021) using an unbalanced, nested design with the distance between sites ranging from 12.5 to over 100 meters. Filtered samples were used to assess DOM characteristics and water chemistry. Landscape characteristics may influence spatial patterns of DOM quality and quantity and these were aggregated for the catchment of each site.
