The Australian Mothercraft Society (Plunket System) was established in 1922. The aims of the Society were: to give accurate information on matters affecting the health of women and children; to inculcate a lofty view of the responsibility of maternity; to provide, employ and train nurses to give assistance to mothers; and, to co-operate with other similar organizations. This bundle comprises correspondence relating to the Society's efforts to achieve from the New South Wales Government both recognition and financial assistance.
