Alligator sinensis Genome sequencing and assembly

We chose the Chinese alligator for genome sequencing to reveal molecular evidence of its diving, sensory, and immune adaptations, to provide novel insights into sex chromosome evolution due to its temperature-dependent sex determination, and to help design scientific captive-breeding programs for population recovery project of this endangered species.本研究选取扬子鳄（Chinese alligator）进行基因组测序，旨在揭示其在潜水、感知与免疫适应方面的分子证据；依托其温度依赖型性别决定（temperature-dependent sex determination）特性，为性染色体演化研究提供全新见解，同时为该濒危物种的种群恢复计划设计科学的人工繁育方案提供助力。
