Long-read 16S rRNA nanopore sequencing of bovine colostrum and calf faecal microbiota

This project investigates the bacterial communities present in bovine colostrum and the dynamic evolution of the gut microbiota in calves during their first two months of life. Using long-read 16S rRNA sequencing via Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT), the study characterizes microbial diversity and taxonomic composition. The dataset includes raw data (fastq) from colostrum samples from cows and faecal samples from their respective calves at different time points, providing insights into early microbial colonization, microbiota maturation, and potential factors influencing microbial shifts.
