Environmental risk perception and green voting among university students in Iğdır, Türkiye: survey dataset (N = 532, 2024)

This dataset contains the quantitative survey data underlying the study “Breathing the periphery: environmental injustice, risk perception and the limits of green voting among young citizens in a transboundary pollution basin.” It comprises a cross-sectional, gender-balanced survey of 532 university students in Iğdır, Türkiye, measuring climate knowledge, environmental risk perception, evaluations of the parliamentary parties’ environmental policies, trust in candidates’ environmental promises, and environmental political response (voting intention, candidate choice, protest, and demand for regulation). Files:- igdir_survey_data.csv — 532 respondents × 48 variables (one row per respondent)- igdir_survey_codebook.csv — variable names, original questionnaire labels, and value codings- README.md — full documentation The data contain no direct identifiers (respondent names were never collected); the fine-grained province-of-origin code has been removed to minimise re-identification risk, retaining only broad region of origin. Not included: the hospital outpatient records and the key-informant physician interviews, which cannot be shared owing to patient-confidentiality and personal-data protection and are reported only in aggregate in the article; and the air-quality (PM2.5/PM10) figures, which are available from the public sources cited in the article.
