Metagenomic analysis of the 2 km-deep terrestrial subsurface aquifer in Western Siberia. subsurface metagenome

In this project we sequenced metagenome of the microbial community of the deep subsurface thermal aquifer through the borehole 1-R located in the Tomsk Region of the Russian Federation. Our goal was the recovery of near-complete genomes of the community members to enable accurate reconstruction of metabolism and ecological roles of the microbial ajority, including previously unstudied lineages.
