Mechanisms of Zhenwu Decoction for the Treatment of Renal Fibrosis at Various Stages

Plenty of studies demonstrated Zhenwu Decoction (ZWD) is effective in the treatment of kidney interstitial fibrosis, whereas the mechanism remains unclear. In this work, metagenomics based strategy was conducted to investigate the mechanism of protective effects of ZWD on kidney interstitial fibrosis. Renal fibrosis model rats at prophylactic, early and progression stages were constructed, and fecal samples were acquired from at three stages model rats and the corresponding ZWD intervention rats. Targeted flora of ZWD were discovered by high-throughput 16S rDNA sequencing on the extraction of fecal samples.
