Gorgonian octocoral pyrosequencing Targeted Locus. uncultured bacterium

The purpose of this study was to determine the culture-independent bacterial community associated with different species of gorgonian octocorals (Eunicea fusca, Eunicea sp., and Plexaura sp.) collected from geographically distinct locations in the Caribbean. This study allowed us to determine the total bacterial community present at the time of collection (June 2009) in these gorgonian corals.
