The predicted genes were functionally annotated using the following two approaches: (1) InterProScan v.5.61 and eggNOG-mapper website were used for identifying the domains in all predicted proteins and inferring the gene pathway (GO and KEGG) that the proteins could be involved. (2) The predicted proteins were aligned against all the reviewed protein sequences in SwissProt database (https://www.uniprot.org/) using BLAST with an E-value threshold of 1e-5 for homolog comparisons.
