资源简介:
The field study was conducted on September 30, 2015 at York University’s Danby Woodlot by four students. The data was collected between 14:30 and 17:30 on both grassland and woodlot. The objective was to identify bird species that flew over at one time. Two students were assigned to conduct the experiment in woodlot and the other two in grassland to save time. First, the transect was placed on the site and one student walked along the transect, stopping three seconds after each step. When the birds were spotted, the distance, in meters, between the bird on the transect and the student on the transect were calculated. In addition, the binoculars (optional) were used to better see the amount of specie and the specie type. Also, a bird book guide was used to help the student determine the exact specie. Finally, the wind speed, scaling from one to four, was measured using Beaufort wind scale. Thus, the data was used to measure the occurrence of the bird species in woodlot and grassland. Group 3 members: Mary H, Shaneil H, Gamsayini K and Prachi M.
