This dataset is a global monthly net primary productivity (NPP) dataset spanning from 2000 to 2024, generated based on multiple MODIS remote sensing data products, with a spatial resolution of 500 meters. The production of this dataset strictly follows the MOD17 algorithm, which adopts the light use efficiency model, taking MODIS leaf area index/fraction of photosynthetically active radiation absorbed (LAI/FPAR) products and daily meteorological data as primary inputs to estimate the total amount of carbon fixed by vegetation via photosynthesis.
