Prochlorococcus virus-infection transcriptomics

Prochlorococcus mortality by viral infection with the T7-like cyanopodovirus P-SSP7 was evaluated in large-scale laboratory experiments and its impacts were studied. Prochlorococcus, heterotrophic bacteria and virus abundances were followed over a 2-day period, together with measurements of metabolites, lipid composition, gene expression, aggregate formation, settling, and bacterial composition.
