Data - Do Longer Conflicts Lead to Increased Ethnic Particularism? Ethnic Violence and Identity in Africa 2011-2016

This dataset is a collection of examinations from the Social Conflict Analysis Database and the Afrobarometer.The Social Conflict Analysis Database covers social conflict events from 1990 to 2017, while the Afrobarometer dataset covers 1999 to 2022. In addition to the Afrobarometer data, I collected data on violent events within all 28 included African countries. These data are from the Social Conflict Analysis Database (SCAD), which is designed for geo-coded, disaggregated social conflict analysis and crisis mapping. The SCAD project uniquely includes protests, riots, strikes, inter-communal conflict, government violence against civilians, and other forms of social conflict not customarily included in conflict datasets or crisis maps.
