"Heliophysics Audified: Resonances in Plasmas" Datasets and Audio Files

Datasets and audio files for the "Heliophysics Audified: Resonances in Plasmas" (HARP) NASA citizen science project. For more information about the project, please visit the HARP website (listen.spacescience.org). The audio files correspond to a small subset of audio files generated by the HARP project used in a "Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences" journal article. The data files correspond to all data collected by the HARP volunteers up to 19 September 2024. In particular: *HARPdata_Events_v09192024.csv is for information recorded by HARP volunteers upon completion of each 3-orbit event (roughly 3-day time interval), including overall impressions about the wave activity during that time interval, text comments, etc. Here, an "event" refers to each 3-orbit interval, regardless of whether any wave activity occurred. This spreadsheet was not used in the Frontiers journal article, but it contains information that will be used in future research. *HARPdata_Marks_v09192024.csv is for information recorded by HARP volunteers upon marking wave activity on the spectrogram via the HARP GUI, including quantitative and qualitative information about the wave activity. Each mark in this spreadsheet corresponds to a box bounding the wave activity in time and frequency on the GUI spectrogram, and these times/frequencies are recorded in the spreadsheet along with recorded perceptions of wave audio, confidence in the wave marking, text comments, etc. Other supporting information such as the satellite position at the beginning and end of the wave activity is also included. *HARPdata_Users_v019192024.csv is for anonymized information recorded about each HARP volunteer (i.e. user), including number of wave marks made, number of events viewed, etc. *HARPaudio_Figure1_tutorialmodel_example.wav is the audio file corresponding to Figure 1 in the manuscript. *HARPaudio_Figure2_GUIevent_example.wav is the audio file corresponding to Figure 2 in the manuscript. *HARPaudio_Figure4_harpevents_example.wav is the audio file corresponding to Figure 4 in the manuscript. *HARPaudio_Figure5_reverseharp_example.wav is the audio file corresponding to Figure 5 in the manuscript. *HARPaudio_standardharp_example.wav is an audio file for a "standard" harp event, provided as a contrast with the "reverse" harp event in Figure 5 of the manuscript. *HARPaudio_Figure9_EMICevent_example.wav is the audio file corresponding to Figure 9 in the manuscript.
